Was The Lady Of The Lake Jesus?

The Lady of the Lake was a mythical nymph who appeared in Merlin's pagan tale. She was apparently the one who gave Merlin a mighty sword, which he in return offered to King Arthur. However the Lady was supposed to guard the Isle of Avalon which existed on a real or mythical plane. People visited the Isle of Avalon when they were sick or injured and they were healed. It was sort of like heaven, but with a little bit of magic to ensure the people who entered sick were healed of their ails.

Some people have declared that the Lady of the Lake was Jesus. Jesus was often portrayed as being able to do tricks when near water - he walked on water, he made fish appear in barren water, he turned water into gold. Jesus was a good magician when it came to things from the water, and some have declared that he was the Lady of the Lake.

How could this have become however when the Lady of the Lake was a female? Well perhaps rather then being female the Lady of the Lake was just feminine of appearance, and whoever saw her face regarded her as being a female when when really they were unable to see her gender as often they couldn't draw their eyes away from her face to check the lady out properly.

Sex change had happened in the past - Apollo for example was able to turn himself into a woman to break into a palace and make love to a princess. So Jesus could have walked into water and stayed down there as he turned himself into a mermaid creature or a figure who appeared as a female. Back then the rule was 'if you have the right spiritual gift, then do it'; so Jesus could have turned himself into the Lade of the Lake and sat in the water to forget about mankind.

Think about - Jesus had been through great trial and error, and he needed healing. What better place would he want to reside other then the Isle of Avalon! With it's healing properties surely he would be able to feel better in no time. If it were a paradise on a real or meta-physical scale, surely Jesus belonged there.

Imagine if the Isle of Avalon was in fact the Garden of Eden, a place made by God where life was perfect. Jesus would surely have wanted to wander to such a place and sit there without breaking a rule. He didn't like apples all that much - he liked grapes and fish; one could foresee that Jesus would have found the rule of not eating from the apple tree easy as pie. Being so good at not breaking a rule Jesus may even have been given job by God - being half-immortal and gifted with supernatural gift he would have been a great help. Perhaps he was given the role as guardian and kept the area safe and well - after all there was probably no one there to look after it, Adam and Eve had been kicked out, and the Cherub was said to have fallen into hell to be kept prisoner after a war with evil forces; so Jesus would have been able to do as he liked as he kept close to the water and made it his home or bath.

With this said perhaps the Lady of the Lake was in fact Jesus. Perhaps she was him on vacation. Perhaps Jesus's feminine face had gotten thinner and made him look like a female, or maybe he used a spirit to keep him in female form, one which he may have used for continuing life as his other spirit may have been unable to upkeep his mortal flesh and so he was forced to borrow another spirit to keep his body alive; whatever the case, it is possible that mysterious Lady of the Lake could have been Jesus.

Of course no one will never know if she was or was not Jesus. She could have been any amongst the ancient beings - a nymph, a sorceress, a mermaid, a witch, a spirit in the water which had the strength to turn mortal; whatever she was she was considered a semi-supernatural being who was able to perform magic and heal.

Like God the Lady of the Lake was able to change the world with the aid of magic. She could destroy, she could prophesies, she could toss a person out of her Isle of Avalon or keep them in if she ever desired; however unlike God she did not make her own children - in fact sometimes she stole children! If she was Jesus she may have been unable to have any children herself and so it was necessary to steal a child when they were close to the banks of the river so she could finally have a pupil to teach magic and myth to.

The Lady of the Lake could have been Jesus, however it does take a little imagination to see how she could have been. After all she was considered a woman, and one great beauty, it is a little bit of imagination which helps one to wonder if she could have been Jesus at all? However it is possible that she could have been, and she was able to use her gifts in magic to heal, protect, and destroy. She was the ultimate semi-supernatural which many aspired to visit - but only a chosen few did.
